What do you think are the pros and cons of traveling? Traveling allows us to see much of the world or at least many other regions of the country we are living in. If I had never been travelling, I wouldn't see the majestic view of the snow-capped mountain in Lijiang or the boundless ocean in Hainan. And travellers are enlightened during the process. They will open up their minds to various values once they see the different lifestyles of people in their trip. Some travellers are inspired and they decide to live a completely different life in the village or a small town rather than follow their previous routine in the farm cube. They learned other ways to achieve happiness. But travelling is costly and time-consuming. For a working girl like me, even a domestic trip to Tibet or Inner Mongolia will cost my several months' income. So people like me do not expect to enjoy it very often. What do you think is the difference between individual and group travel? There are so many differences between the two forms and I don't know where to start. But I'd like to share with you my experiences inboth individual tours and group tours. I made the most impressive trip to Hainan Island, as I always mention, with a group of people from my hometown in 2008. Our itinerary was well arranged by the travel agency and we knew exactly where to dine, which hotel to stay and when to proceed to the next destination. All these errands did not concern any individual. However, when I decided to go on a trip by myself to a safari park in Guangzhou last year, I was plannning a week ahead. I spent two days there but not any longer because I would go beyond my budget. And most of the time, I was rambling in the park aimlessly, regretting not having my trip well organized. Personally, that is what I learned about the differences between the two types. Why do many people travel abroad? What do you think are the benefits and drawbacks? Some people choose to travel to other countries for the sake of sightseeing, while some are just crazy about shopping. It is for sure that people can enrich their life in this way, but traveling to a foreign country means more risks on their journey. Many people complain that they do not feel secure outside their own country because they have no idea who they should turn for help in case of accident. And such a trip can also turn out to be a torment for those who are physically unaccustomed to the food or the weather. What kind of foreign people do you think choose to travel in China? Why do they do so? I had run into foreigners traveling in China with serious purposes. Some of them were scholars carrying out a field research in the wild while others were photographers hunting for a sensational scene. But I guess, among all the foreign tourists in my country, a majority of them are simply enjoying a holiday at somewhere outside their country like we sometimes do in their land.
