Describe a good law in your country.
For a long time in my country, most families have been raising only one child in order to keep a limited increase of the population. But this year, a change has been brought about. Currently, there is a new law saying that a couple who are both from a one-child family are allowed to have two kids at most.
This is a nationwide reform after a long time of consideration, as I heard in the TV news several months ago. As far as I’m concerned, the introduction of this new law is caused by two reasons. The first reason is that many aged parents will be left with little financial support if they lose their only son or daughter. Another thing is that the One Child Policy is only a temporary measure to take and considered improper in some certain regions where people make a living by manual labor.
Theoretically, this law is going to be embraced with applause but most people’s reaction is somewhat conservative. Many young cuoples are considering the cost of raising another kid in the family, which may put greater burden on their shoulders. And for those who are in their 40s or late 30s with considerable savings, this law seems to be rather late.
Still, I see great hope in its issuing, and I believe a period of adaptation is a universal reaction upon any law. After all, being surrounded by a number of siblings when we are old is the ultimate wish of many Chinese people. (以上圖片來自網(wǎng)絡(luò),thanks Dale!) |
